The World Federation runs Ali Asghar Water Appeal (AAWA) every Muharram. Since this appeal launched over 10 years ago, WF have been working to provide clean and safe water to communities who have to live without. This year, we are raising funds for a number of sustainable water solutions in Yemen, Pakistan, Kenya and Bangladesh. These will ensure that families have consistent access to clean and safe water near their homes, so they don’t need to travel long distances to bring it back for their families.
Water connects every aspect of life. Access to safe water and sanitation can quickly turn problems into potential – unlocking education, work opportunities and improved health for women, children and families across the world.
The water solutions include water storage tanks, water supply pipelines and solar powered water wells, amongst others. You can read more about these projects here.
I hope you are all well.
Please see this fantastic resource developed by police colleagues, making it easier to report hate crime.
The long awaited WMP Hate Crime App has now been launched. This App forms part of my strategy to make the reporting of hate crime more accessible and to help continue to reduce the reporting gap.
The App is available on both Apple and Android. It consists of a useful guide/book that provides guidance on all aspects of hate crime, there are also different languages available. There is then a reporting section that directly links to our live chat service. It also gives other reporting options.
The App can be accessed by via the below itunes or Google Play links:
