15. Muharram ul Haram 1441

Salaams All,

Along with BIMA (British Islamic Medical Association), we will be holding a Lifesaving event teaching Basic Life support and important first aid skills on the 28th of September after Salaatul Asr. This event will be held across the UK, at many different Islamic centres.

'Hal min nasirin yansurnaa' - the cry for help Imam Hussain called within the same month that the Lifesaving event will be held. The event will help equip us with these necessary essential skills so that we can be prepared if any emergency were to happen.

Register here to attend.

We are currently looking for BLS trained individuals to volunteer in assisting with the delivery of this event to our jamaat. If interested in volunteering, please contact Mahdiyah Bandali on 07926146903.

‘If you would like to attend , please contact Mahdiyah Bandali on 07926146903. Any age is welcome to take part and certificates will be provided upon completion'

nhs_guide

The Department of Health is committed to responding to the needs and preferences of all sections of our diverse population, and this guide is one of a range of activities we have supported in order to promote public health among all sections of the population.

There is considerable evidence to suggest that large sections within Muslim communities experience significant health inequalities, although this is not uniform across all Muslim communities or all aspects of health. We hope that this guide, will help to address these inequalities.

Physical fitness and moral fibre: the inspiration for the modern Olympics
By Dr Abbas Ramji

Sixty-four years since London last hosted the most prestigious games on earth, during the summer of 2012 the capital of England yet again celebrated the awe-inspiring collation of sporting events that is known as the modern Olympics. Whether you are interested in the Olympics or not, it is an event that takes place every four years that is practically impossible to avoid. It not only is a merriment of sporting prowess, but represents all nations from across the globe, without exception, coming together peacefully to promote the qualities that sustain life itself, physical fitness and moral fibre.
