The Birmingham Matchmakers Forum is a group of volunteers who are passionate about supporting community members in finding a spouse for marriage.

We are connecting to a wider group of matchmakers as part of the International Matchmaking Forum and encourage all interested people to get in touch.

We follow a strict procedure which is outlined below.

Muslim Khaku

I have been assisting our community with matchmaking for about 16yrs and was initially involved with Khojamatch.com as a matchmaker. I moved to Birmingham from London and we established the "Birmingham Matchmaking Forum" in 2009. I have served as joint Treasurer for Birmingham Jamaat and am also a member of Welfare Committee.

Shabbir Nanji

Presently, I lead the ME2WE matrimonial committee and have done for the last four years. I have myself been a match-maker for over 15 years and also a committee member of the Birmingham Matchmaking Forum since its inception in 2009. I have a variety of experience in all community work.

Mumtaz Lalji

Having been a member of the Jamaat for the past 32 years, I have been involved in various Jamaat committee's and also a private match maker after which I was given the opportunity to be part of the Birmingham Matchmaking Forum.

Mohammed Kassamali

Having lived in the counties of Sussex, Dorset and Kent for almost 40 years Mohamed Gulamabbas Kassamali moved to Birmingham in 2006. Shaukat Bhai Merali Dahya introduced Mohamed into the community and asked him to see if the matchmakers could be brought under one umbrella and formulated as a committee of the Birmingham Jamaat. Mohamed with the guidance of Sheikh Mohamed Rashid,  the then resident Aalim, asked Shaukatbhai to convene a meeting of the matchmakers in Birmingham. This was the start of the the Birmingham Matchmakers' Forum. Mohamed served as a secretary of the organization for a couple of years before taking a back seat. He works closely with other matchmakers on the team.
