On this auspicious occasion, the Jamaat takes great pleasure in announcing the engagement of Shabbir s/o Abdulhussein Haji and Akila Abdulhussein to Ummul baneen d/o Rizwan Mohamedali and Fehmida Dharsee of New York. Both the parties have made donations towards our Abbasi Islamic Centre fund, and various other Jamaat funds which the Jamaat accepts with grateful thanks. We also take this opportunity to congratulate both the parties and pray to Allah (SWT) to bless this engagement, and grant the couple with a prosperous, happy and everlasting union (Ameen).

There will be Jashn Imam al-Zaman for Gents at the residence of Syed Tooqir Shah Naqvi on Sunday 14th May commencing at 5pm with Hadith al-Kisa followed by Manqabat, Jashan by Sheikh Mohammed Rashid and ending with Nyaz. The address is 21 Phipson Road, Sparkhill.

Qur'an Khani during Shahr al-Ramadhan
The Ladies committee have organised Qurankhani for boys and girls this Mahe Ramadhan. If you are interested in registering your child, please contact Yasmeen Aunty Meghjee or Sajidah Hameer in the ladies and Abbas Hameer in the gents with your child's full name and age. Please note the age range is 6-16 years for girls and 7-13 years for boys.
Du'a Recitation in Shahr al-Ramadhan
The deadline for submitting names for gents who would like to recite Dua’s during the Holy Month of Ramadhan is today. If you are over 16 years old, please use the Google forms link which has been circulated on Whatsapp and is also available on the Jamaat website submit your name. Please note that Muhammadi Madrasah children will be given slots to recite through the Madrasah. Please contact either Alimehdi Moti or Yasir Pirmohammed directly for any children who are not in Madrasah, for specific requests during A'maal nights or if you do not have internet access.

The World Federation launched a Syria Appeal entitled #unspeakable. They have embarked on a mission to provide mental-health services in collaboration with an agency in Lebanon. A primary objective is to facilitate a shift in self-image from passive victim to active survivor. Under this program, torture and war atrocity survivors recover from psychological and physical symptoms, helping them to successfully regain control of their lives. We are appealing to you to support this worthy cause and help these people overcome the difficulties they have endured. Please give what you can today – your donations will go towards training for nurses, medical supplies and the general running of the clinic.
